Passwords and signing in
Password rules, changing it, and what to do if you forget it.
Password rules
- At least 10 characters, and no more than 128.
- An upper-case letter, a lower-case letter and a number. A symbol is welcome but not required.
- Not a commonly guessed password, and not made up entirely of a straight run such as abcdefghij or 12345678, or of a keyboard row such as qwertyuiop.
- At least 4 different characters.
- Not containing a word of four or more letters from your name, or from the part of your email address before the @.
The form shows you which rules you have met as you type, so you are never guessing at what is wrong.
Changing your password
- 1Go to Settings.
- 2Enter your current password and choose a new one.
- 3Save. You stay signed in here and are signed out everywhere else.
We email you whenever your password changes. If one of those arrives and it was not you, reset your password immediately and tell us.
If you have forgotten it
- 1Use the Forgot password link on the sign-in page.
- 2Enter your email address.
- 3Open the reset email and follow the link. It expires after 1 hour.
- 4Choose a new password. Every device you were signed in on is signed out, so you sign in again with the new one.
Tip: The reset page always shows the same confirmation message, whether or not the address has an account. That is deliberate - it stops the page being used to work out who has a Delrity account.
