Drafts and saving

How draft websites work and what saving does and does not change.

Every new website starts as a draft. A draft is private: it has no public address anyone can reach, and only you and your teammates can see it.

Saving versus publishing

  • Changes you have not saved yet are visible only to you, in the editor.
  • Saving stores your work in Delrity. On a draft, nothing you save is public.
  • Publishing makes a draft live for the first time.
  • On a website that is already live, saving is enough: visitors see your saved changes by themselves, usually within about a minute. Choosing Publish saves and pushes the changes out straight away instead of waiting.

So treat a live website with care. Whatever you save is what your visitors will see shortly afterwards, half-finished or not. If you want to rework a live site privately, build the new version as your second website project and publish it when it is ready.

How many websites you can keep

  • You can keep up to 2 website projects in your workspace.
  • You can have 1 of them published at a time.
  • This is the same on Starter, Professional and Business.
Tip: A second draft is a good way to try a different template or a redesign without touching the site your customers are using today.
