Selling online
Connect a payment provider
Connect your own PayFast account, and choose which payment methods your store offers.
Your customers pay into your own payment account. Delrity never holds, splits or forwards your money - it goes from your customer to your provider to you.
Supported providers
PayFast is the payment provider you can connect today. Yoco and Paystack appear in the list marked Coming soon and cannot be connected yet. You need a PayFast account. Its fees are between you and PayFast; Delrity takes no commission on your sales.
Connecting PayFast
- 1Go to Commerce, then Payments.
- 2Choose PayFast.
- 3In PayFast, open Settings, then Integration, and copy your Merchant ID and Merchant key. If you set a Salt Passphrase, copy it too, and leave it blank if you never set one.
- 4Enter them in Delrity and choose Live as the environment.
- 5Save. Delrity checks the details are in the right format before storing them.
Delrity cannot test your details against PayFast, so place a small order of your own once you have connected, to prove the whole chain works.
Trying it out first
You can create a free sandbox account at sandbox.payfast.co.za, connect it with its own ID and key and choose Sandbox as the environment. Switch to Live before you open the store to customers - a store set to Sandbox will not take orders.
How payments are confirmed
With PayFast there is nothing for you to set up. Delrity tells PayFast where to send its payment notification with every payment, so paid orders confirm on their own. That notification is the only thing we trust to mark an order paid - never the customer's browser.
Choosing your payment methods
Under Commerce, then Payments, you also choose how customers can pay at checkout: online payments, cash on delivery and pay on collection. At least one must stay switched on, and online payments only work once a provider is connected. Cash on delivery is offered to customers who choose delivery, and pay on collection to customers who choose collection.
